Apprenticeships – Developing a winning strategy

A 2 day event at M&H Plastics – observing best practice in terms of the development and progression of apprentices. The M&H business has recently developed their own internal apprenticeship academy – buildings and infrastructure. In terms of employee engagement we would encourage apprentices to be invited from those organisations attending over the two days.

Our ambition is to form an improvement group beyond the initial 2 days – a collaborative group from across our community which will continue to develop a model of best practice for the selection, training, development & progression of apprentices.

Content:

• Site tour of the M&H Beccles facility
• M&H Beccles – apprenticeship strategy
• Sharing of best practice – including an online forum with Nissan
• What are the expectations from apprentices – open forum
• Selection of apprentices – again sharing best practice
• Leadership development for apprentices – what could this look like
• Some practical tasks and problem solving opportunities for those apprentices attending the 2 days
• Potential action points – for each organisation attending and on a collaborative basis

Outcomes:

• Identify opportunities for collaboration and sharing resources
• A catalyst for continued improvement – our apprenticeship strategy.
• Increased engagement from apprentices resulting from the 2 day experience

Timings: 8.30 – 5.00pm on November 8th & 8.30 – 3.00pm on November 9^th

Venue: Berry/M&H Plastics, Beccles, Suffolk

Cost: £500.00 per person. The cost would include the involvement in the proposed improvement group during 2022.
