2 Day Kaizen Event

A team based workshop for 4-8 people focussed on identifying and removing process waste and redesigning workflows to deliver more value to customers and better standard processes for employees. The team should be cross functional with at least 25% of participants from outside the work centre that the Kaizen Event relates to.

 

Content:

  • A pre-event meeting conference call with the team and senior management to determine the scope of the kaizen activity and appoint a sponsor and team leader
  • Introduction to A3 Problem Solving
  • Understanding the “8 Wastes” and “5 Whys”
  • 2 Day hands-on “kaizen blitz” – team activity to identify and execute the specific aims of the team
  • Presentation to senior management and other stakeholders at the end of day2
  • Ongoing support to close out (if not possible in the 2 allocated days) and to sustain the activity

  • Better process(es) to give more value to the customer
  • Enhanced team work and spirit of collaborative working
  • Create more problem solvers
  • Happier employees – more empowered and less frustrated
  • Providing a template and toolkit for future kaizen activity
