At the beginning of 2019 we decided to create a project to support families during the summer holidays.
This can be a challenging time for some families who rely on school breakfast clubs and hot dinners at lunchtime. In terms of our understanding of the issues, we have received some guidance from Children North East and we hope to build on this relationship.
We recently visited Parklands Primary School in Seacroft, Leeds and discussed the project with the Headteacher, Chris Dyson.
Thanks to Leanne Kirkham from Northern Ballet for arranging the discussion and also to James Grant ( Ardagh Glass Doncaster ) for joining us for the meeting. Our member organisations are keen to engage in this important work and we’ll be supporting the families at Parklands School during the 2019 summer holidays. With the full support of Chris Dyson we’ll be designing a range of activities for families to have fun together and will involve our member organisations. We want this work to be strategic, authentic and sustainable.
