Ardagh Glass Doncaster Improvement Group: effective implementation of their benchmarking experiences
Ardagh Glass Doncaster have been members of the LDC for over 10 years. Their engagement in our benchmarking experiences has demonstrated a real understanding of the benchmarking process and related benefits. The factory manufactures glass containers for Nestle, Coca Cola, Fever Tree and the Corona beer brand. The factory is currently undertaking a major investment programme which will increase the capacity of their furnace operation.
A recent development has been the creation of the Ardagh Doncaster Improvement Group, made up of employees who have experienced the full range of benchmarking opportunities offered by the LDC. The aim of the group is to provide a structured approach to the implementation of the benchmarking ideas experienced during the various visits. The process offers the opportunity for further personal development and being able to influence the culture of the factory.
The group meets on a quarterly basis, facilitated by the Operations Manager.
The LDC offers project management support and individual coaching.
The improvement areas include:

- Job chats/catch ups
- Praise & recognition
- Safety dojo
- Employee engagement surveys
