Workshop – FLL and Employee Engagement

The role of the first line leader in creating an employee engagement culture.

Members of our FLL development community have been researching best practice around employee engagement and developing some workshop material aimed at practicing first line leaders.

 

Content:

  • What is the nature of employee engagement and some research findings
  • A facilitated forum with employees from M&H Plastics in Beccles
  • The role of the first line leader in creating an employee engagement culture
  • Identifying leadership behaviours that promote employee engagement – including the servant leadership philosophy
  • Dealing with employees who are currently not engaged and probably don’t want to be
  • Recognising employee engagement – praise and recognition for those employees who go the extra mile
  • A tour of the M&H site in Beccles

Outcomes:

  • Research based material to run development workshops for those organisations attending
  • Identifying gaps and opportunities with the current approach to employee engagement
  • Improve employee engagement levels for those attending the workshop
  • Begins to build an improvement community around employee engagement – sharing resources and success stories
